Dune Buggy Adventures, LLC
Mission Statement
Riding on the Oregon Dunes Recreational Area can and should be a fun, enjoyable and safe experience. We at Dune Buggy Adventures, LLC do our best to provide for you, the renter, the most information that we can, for the safest ride possible.
Company Rules
These rules are for your protection and if followed may reduce the risk of personal injury, damage to the ATV's and the repair costs that the renter would be responsible for.
Anyone caught violating Rules 1 through 5 will automatically have their rental terminated with no refund.
1. No consuming alcoholic beverages or any controlled substances while renting our ATV's.
2. No jumping the ATV's off the dunes or any other object that would cause the tires to leave the ground. Reason: The rear axle will be bent, front A-arms and A-arm rods will be bent, steering stem and handle bars can be damaged as well as broken seat posts and cracked or shattered plastics.
3. No "donuts", "cookies" or spinning the ATV's in circles. Reason: Usually causes rollovers and damage to the ATV and injury to the rider.
4. No wheelies or lifting the front tires off the ground. Reason: Causes bent steering stems, bent A-arms and A-arm rods. Potential to flip the ATV back onto the rider.
5. Stay out of the trails. Dune Buggy Adventures, LLC defines a trail as any area that is wide enough for only one ATV at a time. Reason: VERY DANGEROUS!! Some trails lead through the trees and brush. Visibility is minimal and many head-on collisions occur. Low branches will break off the ATV flag, leaving the rider open for a citation from law enforcement. Other trails have roots and stumps sticking out which can bend or dent the rims or can hook the front tire(s), causing the ATV to flip and probable injury to the renter.
6. Stay away from the beaches. It is off limits to all motorized vehicles. Reason: Salt water is not good for the ATV's and if caught, law enforcement will issue a citation.
7. One person on the ATV at a time. No double riding. Reason: The manufacturer designed the ATV for one person only and the added weight of another adult makes control of the ATV very difficult and potentially dangerous. The added weight also puts an unnecessary strain on the transmission and motor. The only exception to this policy applies to parents who want to take their small child with them but they must accept the risks that riding double involves and understand that we at Dune Buggy Adventures. LLC do not condone it.
8. Stay out of muddy areas. Reason: There is a clean up charge for bringing the ATV back excessively dirty or muddy.
9. Stay away from areas that look too steep or appear to not have another way out. This also includes the left side of the dunes running south otherwise known as the "fingers". Reason: Our ATV's are not powerful enough for the very steepest dunes and there is a rescue charge for getting stuck in these areas.
10. Stay away from lakes, streams or bodies of water for safety. Reason: Quicksand-like areas may form around edges. Water is deeper than it looks and immersion in water will damage the starter and other electrical components.
11. Anyone under 18 years of age must have a parent or guardian sign a Assumption of Risk and Release from Liability and a Rental Agreement for them before renting.
12. Anyone under 18 years of age MUST wear a helmet when operating our ATV's.
13. The renter is responsible for his/her assigned ATV at all times.
14. No riding boots. Reason: Our ATV's have full running boards and riding boots cause scruffs and scratches to the plastics.
15. No shoes allowed while riding the sandboards. Bare feet or socks ONLY. Reason: Wearing shoes will force the binding screws out of the wood. You are responsible for all damages to the sandboard.
Reservation & Credit Card Policy
1. Advance reservations may be made by phone only. During our peak season we can only accept reservations for the mornings. All reservations must be canceled at least 24 hours in advance by phone or in person. All reservations failing to cancel within the 24 hour period or to show up at all will have charged to their credit card the minimum rental amount of each ATV that they had reserved.
2. Choose your reservation time wisely. All reservations are responsible for half of their unused rental and reserved time. Single and multi-day reservations apply.
Example: Joe calls to reserve 2-250's for 2 days at 4 hours each day, a $520.00 rental. Joe decides after 2 hours on the first day that he is done. He is still responsible for half the time remaining for that day as well as half the time for the second day. In this case 3 hours on each 250 or $135.00 each.
3. All prices are subject to change. Web-site and brochure prices may not be current. If you wish, please confirm at the time of your reservation the number of quads/ATV's for rental and an estimate of the rental amount. For the most current rental rates, please call us at 541-271-6972.
4. We accept Visa, Master Card, American Express and Discover Credit Cards for ATV deposits and rentals, sandboard sales and rentals and kite sales. Debit or Check Cards with a Visa or Master Card Logo can only be accepted for kite sales, sandboard rentals and the price of the ATV rental. We can not accept Debit or Check Cards with a Visa or Master Card Logo for the deposit on an ATV to be rented. We do not accept checks. We do accept cash.
State Regulations
1. All riders without a drivers license must be accompanied by a licensed driver.
2. All licensed drivers must have their license on them while riding on the dunes.
3. All renters under 18 years of age must wear a helmet.
4. All ATV's must have a flag. If you break your flag, don't leave it behind. Carry it with you for safety.
5. All alcohol is banned on the dunes owned by BLM and the Forestry Service. Persons caught with alcohol on BLM or Forestry dunes can be fined $5000.00 or more.

Suggestions For A More Enjoyable Ride
1. Bring sunglasses and suntan lotion. The glare off of the sand can make it difficult to judge depth of field.
2. If you have a cell phone, bring it. Most cell phones receive signal on the dunes.
3. For rides lasting 2 hours or more we suggest that you bring a small backpack, packed with bottled water and snacks. Riding uses more energy than most people realize.
4. Bring your camera. There are great photo opportunities.
5. Bring a light jacket or sweat shirt. You never know when a cold wind will blow in.
6. Wear pants, socks and shoes.
7. Bring a pair of gloves just in case your hands get cold.
8. If planning to ride during the rainy season, bring a rain suit. We can provide a rainsuit for you to borrow if needed.
9. We provide helmets and goggles at no additional charge.
